Our thoughts and hearts are with the community of Tumbler Ridge and those impacted by the tragic events of February 10.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic violence that has shaken our neighbors in northern BC. When something like this happens, it affects all aspects of our being, our humanity. When that sense of safety is shattered, the effects are not only physical, but deeply psychological. Grief, shock, anger, and fear move through classrooms, homes, and communities. In the face of this profound loss and grief, we're with you and standing by.”

Supporting the Community

The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta Disaster Response Network (PAA DRN) supports the psychological well-being/mental health needs of disaster victims and responders who are involved in disasters with a focus on serving those who have suffered trauma as a result of a disaster.

As of February 11, the DRN has been opened to provide free support to those impacted by this tragedy.
